I tried a few different versions of the card design, changing everything from the font to the pattern. The first version was not ideal in terms of either the pattern or the font. Firstly, the illustration on the front of the card was not consistent with the illustration on the back, so this resulted in a less coordinated card, and the font made the whole layout even more inconsistent. After talking to the teacher during the group discussion, I started to research new fonts, changed the background and made the illustration on the front more colourful, the new problem was that the colours were too rich and the serif fonts did not fit well with the whole layout.
For the third version I made the card borders pointed and then reduced the colour, while I kept experimenting with the placement of the lettering in order to find a more harmonious position.
In the final piece I found that changing the size of the card and turning everything sideways made the layout much more coherent, and I used shapes of everything to rearrange them to match the flow of the back.
